Exciting happenings...

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd share a few exciting things that have been happening recently....

1. The book I am currently working on was chosen to have it's cover blown up and put on the publishers stand at the Frankfurt Bookfair, to say I was ecstatic was an understatement and it gave me the confidence boost I needed to get on with the artwork. The Publisher I am working with is The Five Mile press you can find their website Here.

2. I have been meaning to post these for a little while, the kind people at Abacus cards sent me some samples of my published cards, I was so pleased especially as they are beautifully flittered. You can buy them here.
Trade customers only though I'm afraid.

3. Our new addition.

We have adopted a doglet called Peanut. He is a 10 month old Saluki who I think is absolutely gorgeous. I've wanted a dog for years and now I work from home we approached our landlords to see if we could and they said yes, HOORAY!
We got him from the wonderful people at Lincolnshire Greyhound Rescue and is one of the best things I have ever done.
If you would like to adopt a sight hound (they are wonderful pets and need a lot less exercise than you might think) then have a look at their website xxx

Little fairy and shrew sketch

Hello! I thought I'd post this fairy and a couple of crops of it, I'm trying to focus on faces at the minute, I want my human/fairy characters to look like I've drawn them and the style consistent, it can be difficult.. I quite liked this one x

Monday 16 July 2012

Hi lovely peeps, it's been sooo long since I've blogged, but thats for a good reason, I'm currently working on two books, one of my very own and one as a copy artist, so time has been scarce for blogging :(

So for now, I can show you a few cards I completed for a client a little while back, they are in my cute sewn style, which I really enjoy doing, nice and crafty!

Christmas Continued!

As promised, a quick look at my newest card design,
I went for 50's inspired colours (pastels) and a cute feel,
I think I was inspired by Snow White for this one;
woodland animals dressing the snowman,
I very much enjoyed it!

Happy (Belated) New Year everybody...

This blog post is going to be slightly longer than my usual brief post and a picture, I wanted to share some exciting news and that's that I am now a fully fledged illustrator on the wonderful Bright Agency's books, yay! They are a lovely agent to work for and so far have given me some really useful advice.
I am currently working on some new cards for a show at the NEC, so am busy busy, and am awaiting info on two current projects I've been 'trying out' for... so stay posted.

A while ago I posted the Pencil of this Fairy illustration, and thought I would show you it part coloured up, it's getting there and will be a lovely piece for my portfolio, I hope you enjoy...
